IoM TT Map

Saturday qualifying was delayed due to weather conditions. Getting underway at 13:30, the conditions around Ramsey were good. However, from our vantage point, heavy clouds could be seen. Soon the clouds were covering the tops of the Isle of Man mountains.

This delayed the session, but the sidecars did come out. Apart from the mountain section, the rest of the track was dry. Travelling Marshals would escort the sidecars around the mountain section, controlling the speed. The rest of the session was cancelled, and in due course, the rain started to fall once again.

Racing tomorrow on Sunday has now been cancelled, with a 5th qualifying session taking priority.

Superbike Saturday Qualifying 4

In a shortened Saturday qualifying, Dean Harrison, from a standing start, posted the fastest Superbike time of the session, a blistering 132.484 mph lap on the Honda UK Fireblade. Michael Dunlop stepped up his game, posting a 130.762 mph on his ROKiT BMW.

Superstock Saturday Qualifying 4

Davey Todd bettered Harrison’s time with the fastest lap of the week so far, with a 133.155 mph lap on the Superstock 8TEN Racing BMW. Todd held back and was one of the last riders to set off down Glencrutchery Road. He was soon setting the fastest sector times of the day, impressive as there was no one near him to use for a tow.

Another weather disruption to this session is the story of the week so far. We should have been watching racing today but it was not to be. Tomorrow is also qualifying, lets hope this goes according to plan and we can go racing on Monday.

Check back in with us tomorrow as we head for another ditch or hedge for qualifying 5. We will see if we can spot a few more celebrities. Tommy Bridewell, the British Superbike Champion joined us for a while at Ramsey.
