Classic Car Shows – Shuttleworth Race Day Air Show

I’m Naveen, originally from South India, and I’ve been based in the West Midlands, UK for nearly five years. My journey into photography began in childhood, inspired by my father’s old Kodak film camera. Used mostly for family occasions and often tucked away in a cupboard, that old Kodak did spark something in me.
As technology evolved, and I grew older I naturally transitioned into using DSLRs and camera phones. During my college years, I consistently captured moments using various mobile phones. That habit eventually pushed me to invest in my first dedicated camera in 2015 — the Canon 250D APS-C (24.2 MP) with its kit lenses. Photography since then, has been a constant creative part of my life.
After completing my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I found myself deeply immersed in automotive culture. Rather than separating my profession and passion, I chose to connect them through photography and storytelling. Blending engineering precision with creative expression.

Shuttleworth Trust – Race Day Air Show
One of my most memorable experiences in 2025 was being accredited as media for the Shuttleworth Trust at Old Warden. It was their final show of the season — the Race Day Air Show — a stunning fusion of vintage aircraft and classic vehicles, all centred around the theme of speed.

The atmosphere was incredible at the the Race Day Air Show. You could feel the passion for classic motor culture in every corner. I positioned myself within the crowd and captured dynamic shots of motorcyclists, vintage car drivers, and even pilots.
Some of the standout vehicles I photographed the Race Day Air Show included:
- 1907 Berliet / Curtis Two-Seat Racing
- 1912 Miline Dreadnaught ‘WP11’
- Ford Model T Speedster
- Chevrolet 490 Speedster
- Morgan 200 Mile Aero
- Aston Martin Razor Blade

Alongside these were iconic names like Bugatti, Alvis, MG, Wolseley, Suffolk Jaguar, and Lotus — with over 100 vehicles ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s, all in a single day. For any classic car or bike enthusiast, the Race Day Air Show is truly a must-visit. Not forgetting there is an airshow as well, the grand finale? A breathtaking flypast featuring the Lancaster WWII bomber escorted by three Spitfires — an unforgettable sight.

Photographic Post Scrip
All my shots were taken under harsh sunlight, without CPL filters. I intentionally embraced slight overexposure, grain, and varied colour grading to create a nostalgic, timeless feel. Some of my favourite images were captured handheld at very low shutter speeds (between 1/10th and 1/80th), adding motion and character to the frames.
