38th Rally Lana – Another Italian Rally, Another Reason to Love This Sport

Report by Gabor Bajnoczki – BobMedia

26 October 2026

Italian rallying has a special place in my heart, and the 38th Rally Lana was another perfect reminder of why I keep coming back.

It might already sound repetitive, as I have said it more than once this season, but I genuinely believe that everyone who loves motorsport should experience an Italian rally at least once in their life. The atmosphere, the spectators, the passion and the way people come together for the sport make these events something truly special.

And after everything I have experienced at the previous Italian rallies this year, the expectations were naturally high. Rally Lana did not disappoint.

Rally Lana 2026 – Another Weekend in Italy

Based around Biella, Rally Lana delivered another weekend full of rally action, spectacular stages and the atmosphere that has become one of the biggest reasons I enjoy photographing events in Italy so much.

On the sporting side, Corrado Pinzano and Mauro Turati took victory in the 38th edition of the rally. Thomas Paperini and Monica Cicognini secured second place, while Elwis Chentre and Massimiliano Bay completed the podium in third.

From the challenging mountain roads to the spectacular city stage, there was plenty to capture throughout the event. The roads offered great opportunities for photography, while the enthusiasm of the spectators added something extra to the entire experience.

For me, however, it is never just about the cars or the stages. It is about everything happening around them. The crowds gathering along the roads, the excitement as the cars approach and the genuine interest people still have in rallying.

This is what makes Italian rallies different in my eyes.

The Passion That Makes the Difference

I know I have said this many times before, but I will probably keep saying it: everyone should attend an Italian rally at least once.

There is something special about seeing so many people enjoying motorsport together. The spectators are not simply there to watch a few cars pass by. They are part of the atmosphere, and their enthusiasm is felt throughout the entire event.

As a motorsport photographer, these are the moments that make a weekend memorable. Of course, capturing a car at full speed or finding the perfect angle on a spectacular stage is always rewarding. But the atmosphere surrounding the competition is just as important.

Rally Lana once again delivered exactly what I had hoped for after the previous events in Italy. The high expectations were there for a reason, and the weekend reminded me why I continue to look forward to every opportunity to return.

A Season Slowly Coming to an End

Unfortunately, Rally Lana will most likely have been my final Italian rally of 2026. It is strange to think about how quickly the season has passed, especially when there are still so many events I would love to attend.

There is, however, one more rally on my calendar. This coming weekend, I will be heading to Switzerland for Rallye du Valais, where I will hopefully bring you another gallery full of action and atmosphere.

After that, it looks like my 2026 rally season will come to an end.

If Rally Lana really was my last Italian event of the year, it was certainly a great way to close that chapter. Another weekend, another collection of photographs, and another reminder of why Italian rallying continues to mean so much to me.

For now, enjoy my Rally Lana 2026 gallery, and stay tuned for the final rally photographs of the season from Rallye du Valais.

See you on the next stage!
