Ford Power Takes Over Santa Pod at the 2026 Ford Show

Ford enthusiasts from across the UK descended on Santa Pod Raceway as the annual Ford Show 2026 transformed the famous drag strip into a celebration of everything wearing the Blue Oval badge.

From immaculate classic Mustangs and concours Escorts to heavily modified Focus STs, Fiesta STs and everyday family Fords, the event showcased every era of Ford motoring. Owners’ clubs filled the paddock with hundreds of cars, proving that whether a vehicle is worth hundreds or hundreds of thousands of pounds, every Ford is welcomed equally at Santa Pod.

Ford Show Santa Pod – Show and Shine Displays

The day began with the popular Show and Shine competition as owners gave their cars one final polish before judging commenced.

Paintwork was buffed to perfection, alloy wheels gleamed in the sunshine and engine bays received last-minute detailing. The standard of preparation demonstrated the incredible time, effort and expense invested by owners.

For many competitors, the event was about far more than winning a trophy. It was an opportunity to share restoration projects, discuss modifications and celebrate a shared passion with fellow Ford enthusiasts.

Run What You Brung Delivers Quarter-Mile Action

While the show cars remained spotless, the drag strip offered an entirely different spectacle. Santa Pod’s ever-popular Run What You Brung sessions produced an entertaining mix of machinery.

High-powered Mustangs launched alongside largely standard Fiestas, modified Escorts battled modern Focus RS models and almost anything wearing a Ford badge took its turn down the famous quarter mile.

Among the more unusual entrants was a NASCAR machine, bringing the unmistakable thunder of American V8 racing to Santa Pod. The sound alone attracted crowds as the stock car blasted down the strip.

Firestorm Lights Up Santa Pod

At the extreme end of the performance spectrum was Firestorm, the spectacular jet-powered Funny Car.

The run lasted little more than five seconds, yet during that brief moment spectators experienced an unforgettable combination of deafening noise, searing heat, flames and dense smoke as the car accelerated through the quarter mile.

Few vehicles demonstrate raw acceleration quite like a jet-powered dragster, and Firestorm once again proved why it remains one of Santa Pod’s biggest attractions.

Royal Fail Wins the Crowd

If Firestorm represented ultimate speed, Royal Fail provided the day’s biggest smile. The former Royal Mail delivery van completed the same quarter mile in around 21 seconds, with its driver perhaps grateful for what looked suspiciously like a helpful tailwind.

It was never going to challenge Firestorm’s elapsed time, but that hardly mattered. The cheerful old van attracted huge attention throughout the day and perfectly summed up the relaxed and inclusive atmosphere that makes the Ford Show so enjoyable.

Live Action Arena Thrills Spectators

Away from the drag strip, the Live Action Arena kept visitors entertained throughout the afternoon. Renowned stunt driver Terry Grant demonstrated extraordinary car control with another breathtaking display of precision driving, balancing spectacular stunts with remarkable accuracy.

The arena then belonged to Swamp Thing, the giant monster truck. Towering above the crushed cars beneath its enormous tyres, the monster truck combined immense power with surprising agility as it climbed obstacles, crushed vehicles and delighted spectators with a display of controlled destruction.
