Kyle Ryde and Scott Redding shared the spoils at a dramatic Knockhill race weekend, altering the dynamics of the 2026 ZYN British Superbike Championship standings. The tight, undulating Scottish circuit delivered intense action across all three races, featuring mechanical heartbreaks, brilliant defensive riding, and a red-flagged restart.

BSB Knockhill Round 3: Ryde and Redding Reign Supreme in Scotland

The 2026 Bennetts British Superbike Championship roared into Scotland last weekend for an action-packed round at the unique, roller-coaster Knockhill circuit. Defending champion Kyle Ryde continued his imperious form, claiming victory in the first two races. However, a sensational resurgent performance from Scott Redding in the final race of the weekend ensured the crown wasn’t completely dominated by one man.

Knockhill Race 1: Ryde Capitalises on Ray’s Cruel Heartbreak

The opening race on Saturday looked set for a spectacular grandstand finish as old rivals Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray traded fastest laps at the front of the field. Ray piled intense pressure on Ryde’s Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions machine for 28 gruelling laps.

Disaster struck for the McAMS Yamaha rider with just two laps remaining when a mechanical failure forced him out of the race. This handed Ryde a runaway victory, while Scott Redding secured second place. Glenn Irwin completed an emotional return to the podium in third, narrowly holding off a fierce challenge from Ryan Vickers.

Knockhill Race 2: Ryde Doubles Up Amid Heavy Pressure

Sunday’s opening sprint saw a carbon copy of Saturday’s intense front-running pace. Scott Redding initially grabbed the holeshot, but Ryde was instantly on the offensive, seizing the lead halfway through the opening lap.

A highly motivated Bradley Ray rebounded from his Saturday disappointment to shadow Ryde for the entirety of the race. Despite finishing just 0.613 seconds behind, Ray could not find a way past the reigning champion.

Ryde crossed the line to take his seventh win of the season, with Redding securing a lonely third. Behind them, Storm Stacey won a dramatic final-corner drag race against Max Cook to claim fourth.

Knockhill Race 3: Redding Ignites the PBM Ducati in Red-Flagged Finale

The final race of the weekend was interrupted on lap three when Danny Kent suffered a technical issue, bringing out the red flag.

Upon the 25-lap restart, Bradley Ray launched from pole position to control the early phase. However, Hager PBM Racing’s Scott Redding was on a mission. On lap 14, Redding executed a textbook dive down the inside at the Hairpin to snatch the lead.

Once in clean air, Redding dropped the hammer, firing in blistering lap times to secure his second victory of the 2026 season. Ray secured another excellent second place, while Ryde recovered from a mid-race error at the hairpin to pip Ryan Vickers to the final podium spot.

Maria Costello MBE

Earlier this year, Maria Costello was seriously injured during sidecar qualifying at the 2026 Isle of Man TT after her outfit reportedly struck a hare at high speed. She suffered multiple life-changing injuries, including a serious spinal injury, and now faces a long road to recovery.

To help raise money for Maria, British Superbike Champion Kyle Ryde took on an incredible challenge, riding his tiny Honda Monkey bike all the way from his home in Nottinghamshire to the BSB Knockhill Round in Scotland – a journey of around 300 miles! Swapping his superbike for a 125cc Monkey, Kyle’s ride captured the hearts of the racing community, with riders, teams and fans all getting behind the cause.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, Kyle raised an amazing £19,000 to support Maria’s recovery and rehabilitation. If you’d like to help too, every donation makes a difference. You can donate using this link.
