The BTCC 2025 Finale. The penultimate. One question: Who will be the 2025 BTCC champion at the end of the day? Will it be Sutton? Will it be Ingram? With Tom Ingram having a 33-point gap on Sutton ahead of Brands Hatch, it seemed to be a simple choice. However, could the challenging autumn conditions come into play and affect all the titles left to play for?

BTCC 2025 Finale Qualifying

During the weekend, both title contenders were fighting hard to pull ahead of each other. Sutton and Ingram battled right up to the final race. But qualifying was not the start to the story that either driver could’ve wished for. Both drivers failed to make the top 6 shootout. Ingram in 7th with Sutton starting a disappointing 11th. A master stroke of a lap was to come from Jack Sears’ Trophy contender Daryl DeLeon. Pole position for DeLeon in the WSR BMW.

BTCC 2025 Finale Race 1

In an eventful race, Dan Cammish converted a front row 2nd into a win, scoring crucial points for NAPA as they bid for the Teams championship. Strong finishes from Tom Chilton in P2 and Adam Morgan in P3 made life difficult for NAPA with Team Vertu closely challenging for the Teams Championship. In the Independent Drivers Championship, Daniel Lloyd, starting 15th,made some great overtaking moves to finish 8th. Mikey Doble, who is also in the fight for the Independents title, finished 14th

BTCC 2025 Finale Race 2

Could Tom Ingram win another BTCC title with one race to go? The answer after an amazing race was yes. Ingram held onto the lead professionally throughout the race even after a safety restart. Ingram looked unlikely to drop his grip on the trophy throughout the entire race after climbing from P5 to P1.

Early on it appeared that Sutton had the pace to take the lead and showcase his speed. However, the deployment of the safety car twice disrupted Suttons progress. Sutton was unable to catch the lightning quick car of Ingram who claimed his 7th win of the season.

There were many battles to fight for lower down the field. Doble and Lloyd finishing P14 and P15 after a hard-fought race for points in the Independent Drivers’ race. Jack Sears’ title contender Charles Rainford unfortunately spun out at Paddock Hill Bend, careering into the tyre barrier ending his challenge.

BTCC 2025 Finale Race 3

The final race to a superlative season could have been a bit of a disappointment as the Drivers’ Championship was already decided. With the top 9 reversed Moffat was on pole followed by Cook. Cook fought early on with Moffat before passing him and taking control of the race. Holding onto the lead to the checkered flag Cook took his first win of the season. After a tumultuous year of team changes and an uncertain future Cook finished off the final BTCC race in style.

Jake Hill came home in 3rd place after recently announcing that he will leave Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport at the end of the season. After pushing hard throughout the race, Hill earned himself a podium worthy of a great driver. Jake is pausing his career in the BTCC to pursue his professional racing career internationally.

DeLeon came home 12th to secure the Jack Sears Trophy ahead of his Team BMW colleague Charles Rainford. Restart Racing won the Independent Teams’ and Dan Lloyds claimed the Independent Drivers’. EXCELR8 Motorsport / Hyundai took the Manufacturers / Constructors Championship. NAPA Racing UK won the BTCC 2025 Team Championship ahead of Team VERTU.

The BTCC Championship will return in 2026 with a 30 race series and hopefully a strong support race card . Starting at Donington Park over the weekend of the 18 – 19 April. The PistonClick team will be there to bring you pictures and fans viewpoint from the trackside.
