Pascal Wehrlein has clinched the 2026 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship after a thrilling season finale at the London E-Prix. This victory makes Wehrlein a two-time series champion while Jaguar has secured the 2026 Teams’ Championship.

After a season-long fight that saw multiple drivers remain in contention for the title, everything came down to the final weekend in London. In the end, it was Wherlien who came out on top and secured the biggest prize in Formula E.

The season has once again shown just how close Formula E can be, with several drivers capable of fighting at the front and the championship going down to the final round. There is plenty of reason to believe we could see more of these closely fought battles in the years ahead.

London also marked the final appearance of the ExCeL Circuit on the Formula E calendar. From next season, the championship will move to Brands Hatch, which will become the new home of the London E-Prix.

End of an Era for E-Prix

The weekend also marked the end of an era in Formula E. The Gen3 cars completed their final race before the championship moves towards the introduction of Gen4 later this year.

It was also an emotional farewell for two of the championship’s longest-serving figures, with Lucas di Grassi and Sébastien Buemi bringing their Formula E careers to a close in London.

Both drivers have been part of Formula E from its earliest years and became two of the defining faces of the championship. Their careers have helped shape the series from its beginnings into the championship it is today, making their departure another significant moment in Formula E’s history.

London therefore wasn’t simply the final race of the 2026 season. It marked the end of the ExCeL chapter, the end of the Gen3 era and the farewell of two drivers who have been backbones of Formula E — while a new champion and a new era now await.
