British Superbike Championship Snetterton Round 4: Ray, Redding and Ryde Share Victories

The British Superbike Championship Snetterton for Round 4. Our roving photographer RPW captured the action for PistonClick over the weekend which produced three different race winners. Bradley Ray, Scott Redding and Kyle Ryde each stood on the top step of the podium. The Norfolk circuit delivered dramatic racing, red flags, safety cars and major championship implications as the 2026 season reached its halfway stage.

Kyle Ryde leaves Norfolk with an extended championship lead. Scott Redding closed the gap with a victory and two podium finishes. Bradley Ray bounced back from disappointment in Race 2 to return to the podium in the final race.

British Superbike Championship Snetterton Race 1: Bradley Ray Takes Victory

Bradley Ray secured his first victory of the season after producing a composed ride for McAMS Yamaha in the opening race, beating Scott Redding by just 0.272 seconds. Ray showed impressive pace throughout the weekend and converted pole position into victory after controlling the race under constant pressure from Redding.

The original start ended almost immediately when a heavy crash at Wilson involved Graeme Irwin, Charlie Nesbitt, Glenn Irwin and Rory Skinner, bringing out the red flag. Charlie Nesbitt #86 suffered a fracture to the second metacarpal in his right hand and was declared unfit to continue. Glenn Irwin #2 complained of pelvic pain before officials transferred him to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further assessment. He was also ruled out of the remainder of the meeting.

The 14-lap restart saw Ray launch into the lead once again ahead of Max Cook, Storm Stacey and Leon Haslam. Cook mounted a determined challenge and took the lead at Riches on lap five before Ray reclaimed first position with a decisive move into Wilson four laps later.

Cook’s race ended in disappointment when he retired from second place on lap 11 after a great linkage snapped. Moments earlier, Storm Stacey had also dropped out after his Ducati developed heavy smoke along Bentley Straight. An oil cooler had fractured along a weld.

Redding continued to pressure Ray until the chequered flag, but Ray held on for victory. Kyle Ryde inherited third after the retirements ahead of him, while Leon Haslam finished fourth following an entertaining battle with the reigning champion. Ryan Vickers #7 collected another strong fifth-place finish for Honda Racing UK. Rookie Joe Talbot impressed again in sixth, ahead of Josh Brookes, Jason O’Halloran, Ilya Mikhalchik and Lee Jackson.

British Superbike Championship Snetterton Race 2: Scott Redding Triumphs

Scott Redding converted an excellent start into victory during a dramatic second race that featured crashes, a safety car intervention and controversy involving championship rivals Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray.

Redding immediately took control from Max Cook and Ryde, while Ray settled into fourth. The opening lap brought another major incident as Leon Haslam, Josh Brookes and Ilya Mikhalchik crashed together at Wilson. Officials deployed the BMW Safety Car before racing resumed on lap three.

Redding controlled the restart while Cook, Ryde and Ray remained firmly in contention. Ray overtook Cook for third before setting his sights on Ryde. After overtaking Max Cook, Ray passed championship leader Ryde for second at Murrays on lap nine.

As the pair approached Riches on the following lap, Ryde attempted to fight back immediately, but the two riders made contact. Ray crashed out at high speed, ending his race, while Ryde continued and crossed the finish line in second place.

Race officials reviewed the collision and issued Ryde with a long lap penalty. As it could not be served before the race finished, it was converted into a three-second time penalty, dropping Ryde from second to third and promoting Max Cook to second behind race winner Scott Redding. The incident proved costly for Ray, who failed to score in Race 2 after winning the opening race on Saturday.

Following the race, Ryde disagreed with the stewards’ decision insisting

“I didn’t deserve the penalty.”

and maintaining

“Everyone knows it wasn’t my fault, so we’ll leave it at that.”

The clash has added another chapter to what is becoming one of the key rivalries in this year’s British Superbike Championship title fight.

Rory Skinner produced one of the standout rides of the weekend. Starting 19th, he charged through the field to finish fourth. Christian Iddon claimed fifth, while rookie Joe Talbot continued his excellent season with another sixth-place finish. Danny Kent, Jason O’Halloran, Lee Jackson and Eugene McManus completed the top ten. Storm Stacey endured another frustrating race after retiring on lap nine.

British Superbike Championship Snetterton Race 3: Kyle Ryde Extends Championship Lead

Kyle Ryde bounced back from the Race 2 controversy by claiming victory in Sunday’s final race, completing a weekend that featured three different winners.

Max Cook made the strongest start and led ahead of Scott Redding, Bradley Ray and Ryde. Storm Stacey’s difficult weekend continued when he crashed at the Bombhole on lap three after climbing from the back of the grid into 13th place.

Ryde began his charge on lap five by passing Ray at Wilson before Ryan Vickers also overtook the Yamaha rider. One lap later, Redding challenged Cook for the lead at Wilson. Both riders ran wide, allowing Ryde to seize first place. Ryde immediately established a relentless pace and edged clear while Redding defended second from Vickers, Cook and Ray.

Cook lost momentum on lap nine after taking evasive action under braking at Wilson, allowing Ray to move into fourth.

Ray continued his recovery and overtook Vickers for third on lap 13 before closing rapidly on Redding during the closing laps. Redding resisted the pressure to secure second place behind Ryde. Vickers #7 finished fourth to equal his best result of the season, while Leon Haslam narrowly beat Rory Skinner to fifth. Christian Iddon, Joe Talbot, Jason O’Halloran and Josh Brookes rounded out the top ten.
