Last weekend we had the chance to travel to Aosta, Italy, where the 47th Rally Valle d’Aosta was held as part of the CRZ Zona 1 championship. The event featured highly technical mountain stages and, despite the rainy weather, attracted plenty of passionate fans.

Here’s a short recap of the rally. Ivan Carmellino and Max Minazzi claimed victory at the 47th Rally Valle d’Aosta after a thrilling battle fought down to the final stages. Driving the #1 plate Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, the Piedmontese duo defeated local favorites Elwis Chentre and Igor D’Herin, who were also competing in a Skoda Fabia.

The fight between the two crews remained incredibly close throughout the rally, especially during the rain-soaked second leg. The decisive moment came on the final stages, where Carmellino and Minazzi set the fastest times. Chentre also lost valuable seconds after a fire extinguisher came loose inside the cockpit during the last pass on Saint Marcel, interfering with the pedals.

The win marks Carmellino’s second success of the season after Santo Stefano Belbo and moves him to the top of the regional standings.

Third place went to Tuscany’s Thomas Paperini and co-driver Monica Cicognini in the Power Group Skoda Fabia, thanks to a fast and consistent performance throughout the event.

Just behind the podium finished Alberto Branche and Nadir Bionaz in fourth in the #14 Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. Marcel Porliod and André Perrin completed the top five.
