Mic Pringle Motorsports Photographer
24 March 2026

Hailing from the north-west of England (Oulton Park is my local circuit), I rediscovered my passion for photography in the wake of the COVID pandemic. What began as a therapeutic way to reconnect with creativity quickly grew into a focused pursuit of motorsport storytelling.

As a lifelong racing fan, my attention has always gravitated toward the intensity and emotion of competition, but over time that passion has found a very specific home: two wheels. While I was once deeply invested in Formula 1, my interest has gradually faded as the sport has evolved into a platform increasingly driven by manufacturer priorities and road-car technology development. In contrast, motorcycle racing delivers a level of rawness and authenticity that continues to draw me in, both as a fan and as a photographer.

British Superbike Championship
That connection is strongest within the British Superbike Championship, where I spend much of my time trackside. I follow the series across the UK—and occasionally further afield — capturing the speed, aggression, and atmosphere that define BSB. It’s here that my work feels most natural, documenting everything from the smallest details in the paddock to the full-throttle intensity of race day.

Technically, I shoot exclusively with the latest Nikon digital equipment, relying on its performance and reliability in demanding track environments. At the same time, I maintain a strong connection to traditional photography through 35mm film. I regularly shoot film using a growing collection of Minolta cameras and lenses, drawn to the unique rendering, imperfections, and character that film naturally provides.

While I’m always happy to produce clean, editorial-style imagery suited to publication, I don’t believe digital can fully replicate the look and feel of film. That philosophy carries into my post-processing, where I often shape my digital images to echo that analogue aesthetic, or at least as closely as modern software allows.

24H Series
More recently, I’ve expanded my experience beyond domestic championships, covering the 24H Barcelona and 24H Dubai endurance races as a media-accredited photographer. Working in these environments—long hours, changing conditions, and a truly international field—has only reinforced my ambition to pursue motorsport photography as a full-time career.

For me, photography isn’t just about documenting racing, it’s about capturing the energy, atmosphere, and fleeting moments that define it.
